Challenge
To design, manufacture and install a decorative automatic gate, that fitted in with the existing railing design, but had to work with an existing automatic gate on an air lock system, to ensure that only one gate can open at once.
The new gate also had to work with the schools existing access control system. The new gates had to open up within a small area, due to the slope up the driveway and from either side of the opening. The surrounding area had no space for a sliding gate or a standard swing gate, so the new gate would have to be a bespoke folding gate.
Solution
We installed a decorative automatic bi-folding gate, with an airlock system linking the new gate to the existing automatic gate. The airlock system ensures that only one gate can be open at any one time and we installed Paxton net 2 access control to the gates to allow them to work off the schools existing access control system.
The new bi-folding gates open up into a very small area due to the way they fold open, so this worked well with the site conditions. The new automatic gates open in approximately 7 seconds providing the added security needed and allowing vehicles to enter quickly. The school were very pleased with the end result.
